Anna came for a visit this weekend and brought tales from D.C. Saturday we made the long drive up to Sedona where we spent the day hiking and trying to avoid paying park entrance fees. We had an adventure crossing a stream on some rocks, but everyone made it to the other side safe and sound. This is a photo of a bridge we crossed in the car- someone had poured cement and made a little road in the middle of a small waterfall.
Very cool! After Sedona we went up to Flagstaff and spent some time walking around town. We found a great little coffee shop and had one of the best cups of coffee ever.
Sunday we went for a hike at Squaw peak and got some nice views of the city. Afterwards we went to the Heard Museum where we saw some really interesting Native American art and learned firsthand that grinding corn meal into corn is a lot harder than it looks.

Sunday night, we got a true taste of Arizona when we accidentally dropped in on a yoga class led by a "poet, astrologer, etc..." He played the didgeridoo while we did yoga in an effort to "harmonize the sound of the universe with our stretching." He had a theory that by coming around and putting the didgeridoo right above whatever you were stretching, he could help release tension and get you into a deeper stretch. I must not be quite as into the harmony of the universe as others were, because I laughed a little when I opened my eyes and saw the didgeridoo an inch from my face. It was a good class though, nice stretching and a pretty typical insight into the yoga side of Arizona.

We finished up the weekend with dinner and an amazing rasberry crepe dessert made by Anna. Thanks Anna!
