Sunday after our train trip we went to an art festival in Carefree. There were lots of beautiful sculptures and fun things to see, but the best part was a parrot that really loved David. We were walking through the crowd and the bird was resting on someone's shoulder. When it saw David, it went crazy! It was bouncing up and down, flapping its wings, and making all sorts of sounds. The owner told us that it meant the bird liked someone (although personally, it looked to me like it meant 'I'm about to peck your eyes out'). Thankfully, the owner knew her bird and she was right. The bird (whose name was, appropriately, Cuddles) went to David, crawled up his arm and started rubbing her head on his shoulder and looking up at him with what I can only describe as feathered awe. Another lady kept trying to get the bird to come to her, but the bird would not be moved off of David. It would walk down his arm, look at the other people, say "bye", and then walk right back up to his shoulder and say "hi" to him. I had a lot of competition for sure.
We finally pried the bird off of David and got away before the bird made any more advances. We finished walking around the festival and stopped at a small park in the center of the festival where they had a fountain and a slide shaped like a lizard.
After the festival, we decided to end the day by trying to find a good rockhouding spot not far outside of town. Unfortunately, the directions in our book weren't very clear. They involved an
