Not a moment too soon

From St. Louis we drove to Louisville, KY where we stopped at an outdoor bar to have dinner and listen to the bluegrass band playing in the park across the street. Dinner was so relaxing that it was hard to motivate ourselves to get up and drive on to our hotel in Charleston, WVa. As we found out later that night, we probably would have been better off sleeping in the park in Louisville.

From Charleston we took some windy backroads into Virginia where we linked up with Route 66 into the city. Out of good CD's and snacks in the car, David sums up those last 100 miles.
