Saturday we braved the 102 temps to see the best of Arizona's farms. We started by peach-picking at a local farm. We saw on the news that they were having a festival but by the time we got there around 2, most of the festival had ended because of the heat.We did the best we could to cool off with a peach smoothie and took a hayride to the orchard where we picked the peaches. They were so delicious that we couldn't resist sampling as we went. Apparently we weren't the only ones because when we told the cashier to charge us for a few extras, he told us that sampling was just part of the experience. That's my kind of farm!
After the peaches, we headed down the road to an olive farm where we continued the movable feast. We tried Mexican Lime olive oil and feta-stuffed olives, before settling on a blue cheese stuffed brand and heading for home.
