Tonight we went to the Rollerderby with Maribeth and Jeff. We were inspired to check out the AZ league after we watched the "Rollergirls" show Larry B. worked on.
The bout and the jams lived up to all of our expectations and we'll definitely go back. It was a really energetic crowd and there were lots of fun people - like this lady dressed as an Easter Egg. All the girls had great names and even the referees had funny derby designations like this one - Tad Awkward.
During one of the breaks David took this photo with one of the Bad News Bruisers named Mink Stole. After we took the photo she skated back over and gave us pins with her name and picture. I think we're officially Mink Stole super-fans.
For the 3rd period, we went out and sat on the track. From up close, we were really surprised how fast the girls skate and how rowdy it can get. These girls really know how to skate!
